Company background :
Singular is a leading European VC fund, supporting founders with the ambition of creating companies with very high transformational potential.
The fund was founded in 2020 by Jeremy Uzan & Raffi Kamber, who invested in successful companies before Singular was founded - Algolia, OpenClassrooms, Qonto, Dataiku, Frichti, Drivy, Trainline.
Today, Singular invests from Seed to Series B across Europe. They have already backed a number of companies including Homa Games, Typology, Moka.care and many more. More information on TechCrunch
Mission context :
To deploy a new fund, Singular needed to strengthen the investment team and structure the company internally. The assignment included two challenges:
- Recruiting key profiles
- Create a best-in-class recruitment process
What made the difference
We spent a lot of time (2 days a week) with the Singular teams to understand their day-to-day operations and what makes a good early stage VC investor.
We analyzed the performance of our personas on an ongoing basis, to learn what was blocking us and improve our sourcing on an ongoing basis.
As regards the skills we didn't know about, we had a lot of discussions with the Singular teams and other investment funds. In addition, we were able to forge a strong conviction by meeting dozens of candidates.
